Arnold Daghani - Stations of the Cross (17 pieces)
Bidding Information
Description
Wherever he found himself, Daghani – an artist who drew and painted as spontaneously as plants grow – responded to his surroundings with creative insight. Even in the extermination camp, where he and his wife Anna were taken in 1941, he went on drawing and making images of the people and happenings around him.
After escaping from the camp, Daghani and his wife stayed for a while in Bucharest, then spent a few years in Israel, France and Switzerland before settling in England in 1978. He filled his home in Hove (Sussex) with thousands of works and stacks of drawings and sketchbooks, hoping it would remain as the “Daghani Museum” after his death in April 1985.
There are 17 pieces in this lot.
The reserve price is £100.
