Description
Andrew Carter studied Art at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and Design and Fine Art/Painting at Central St Martins School of Art, London. He also studied printmaking at Braunschweig Art School Germany. He teaches Art full time at JAGS.
Twelve is a collaborative bookwork by the artist Andrew Carter and the poet Jonathan Ward, published by the Grayling Press in association with EMH Arts/ Eagle Gallery.
The book combines twelve poems with hand-printed, single-colour linocuts and end papers designed by the artist. The relationship between Ward's poetry (arranged to form a narrative sequence) and Carter's abstract images is not a literal one, but rather a series of visual and emotional responses. Printed by Alan Cox and Michael Ward, Sky Editions, London and handbound by Books Works, London.
